According to the Anxiety Disorders Association of Canada, 25% of Canadians will have at least one anxiety disorder in their lifetime.
"Worry never robs tomorrow of its sorrow, it only saps today of its joy.
What to expect
Treatment begins with assessing what areas in your life are you most affected by anxiety; socially, in a general way, panicky or compulsive and to what degree? Next the focus is on understanding that our fear response is a normal but sometimes, like a car with a stuck gas pedal, anxiety can take over and get the better of us. I use a variety of techniques including cbt, mindfulness and relaxation techniques to reduce symptoms and help individuals to feel more in control of their lives.
